Fees

CLAT (UG) has two costs to plan for: the application fee paid while registering, and an optional add-on for official past papers. Reserved-category candidates get a concession on the application fee — but neither figure is worth memorising from a third-party source, since the Consortium revises them most years.

Application fee

A one-time, non-refundable fee is payable online during registration.

  • Paid once per CLAT-UG cycle, directly on the Consortium portal
  • A reduced concessional fee applies for SC/ST/BPL and other reserved categories
  • You typically upload the category certificate to claim the concession at payment
  • No refund if you register and later skip the exam — confirm eligibility before paying

Past-papers add-on

The Consortium also typically offers official previous-year papers as a separate, optional purchase.

  • Priced and sold separately from the application fee
  • Not required to appear — purely an optional study resource
  • Our Previous Year Papers here give you copyright-clean interactive reconstructions of past patterns at no extra cost, so this add-on is optional either way
