Fees
CLAT (UG) has two costs to plan for: the application fee paid while registering, and an optional add-on for official past papers. Reserved-category candidates get a concession on the application fee — but neither figure is worth memorising from a third-party source, since the Consortium revises them most years.
Application fee
A one-time, non-refundable fee is payable online during registration.
- Paid once per CLAT-UG cycle, directly on the Consortium portal
- A reduced concessional fee applies for SC/ST/BPL and other reserved categories
- You typically upload the category certificate to claim the concession at payment
- No refund if you register and later skip the exam — confirm eligibility before paying
Past-papers add-on
The Consortium also typically offers official previous-year papers as a separate, optional purchase.

- Not required to appear — purely an optional study resource
